On Tuesday, 5 November 2024, students of the Physics Study Program at Tanjungpura University conducted an industrial visit to the Legal Metrology UPT of Pontianak City. This activity opened up new insights for students regarding the direct application of physics in work, especially in metrology.
During the visit, students received an in-depth explanation of the importance of accurate measurements in supporting various sectors, from trade to the technology industry. They also witnessed firsthand how measuring instruments are calibrated and tested to comply with national and international standards.
This activity is a golden opportunity for students to connect the theories learned in class with honest practices in the field. Not only does it enrich academic understanding, but this visit also motivates them to see career potential in the metrology field and other physics applications.
The UNTAN Physics Study Program continues to provide a theoretical and applicable learning experience to prepare competent graduates ready to face the world of work challenges.
