Public Lecture Series 1 Physics Study Program: "introduction To Medical Physics - Opportunities And Challenges"

The Physics Study Program of Tanjungpura University successfully held the 1st Public Lecture Series with the theme "Introduction to Medical Physics: Opportunities and Challenges" on Wednesday, 6 November 2024. This activity was conducted using a hybrid method (online and offline), allowing participants to participate in this inspiring session.

This event presented a particular resource person, M. Fahdillah Rhani, M.Med.Phys., a medical physicist from the Kathleen Kilgour Center, New Zealand, who has extensive experience in the field of radiation therapy. In this session, he discussed the great potential of medical physics as a multidisciplinary field that combines physics and technology in health services.

Participants were invited to understand promising career opportunities, challenges faced in applying medical physics, and the importance of medical physicists in supporting patient diagnosis and treatment. The discussion was interactive, with high enthusiasm from students and lecturers who attended in person and online.

This public lecture is the first step in opening students' insights into one of the branches of physics that is applicable and relevant in the modern era. UNTAN Physics Study Program is committed to continuing to present educational activities that inspire and prepare students to face global challenges.
