The Physics Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Tanjungpura University, has successfully implemented a Community Service activity titled "Simple Physics Experiment Training for High School Students in Pontianak City." The event, held at SMA Negeri 9 Pontianak, was attended by students from various schools around the Pontianak area and their accompanying teachers.
This activity introduces students to physics concepts through interactive and educational experiments. During the event, participants were invited to explore three interesting experimental stations.
First, the Ice Cream Making Post Using Raoult's Principle. In this post, students learn theory and practice directly in making ice cream by applying Raoult's principle. They use a mixture of ice, salt, and other ingredients to create ice cream manually while understanding how pressure and temperature affect the mixture's freezing point.
Second, the Melody Making Post with a Microcontroller. The second post teaches students how to create melodies using a microcontroller. They learn about the basic electronics principles and program a microcontroller to produce various tones and melodies, providing hands-on experience in making simple digital musical instruments.
Third, the Explanation Post of the Working Principle of Anaglyph 3D Glasses and Making D.I.Y. 3D Glasses. In the last post, students understand the working principle of anaglyph 3D glasses and the opportunity to make their D.I.Y. 3D glasses. They know how these glasses create a depth effect by filtering red and cyan colors and experience the practical process of making simple 3D glasses. This event is also part of Universitas Tanjungpura’s commitment to expanding access to education and developing the potential of Pontianak students in the science field. With this training, students can better understand the application of physics in everyday life and consider careers in science and technology in the future.
