The Physics Study Program field lecture was held on October 5-7, 2024, at Karta Beach, Bengkayang. This activity aims to hone students' understanding by applying physics concepts in the open natural environment while at the same time fostering an appreciation for the role of physics in everyday life. For three days, students gain a different learning experience—from a theoretical perspective and a practical application, with a beautiful beach atmosphere as an inspiring backdrop.

In this activity, students conduct experiments and observations designed to utilize the coastal environment as a natural laboratory. The experiments carried out were measuring temperature and pressure parameters on the coast using AWS, measuring physical parameters of water and pollution index, measuring weather parameters using AWS, geoelectric methods for estimating seawater intrusion, making bioenvironmental preparations, introducing telescopes and observing celestial objects with telescopes, fabricating eco-paving blocks from plastic waste and fabricating coconut shell briquettes with organic adhesives. This activity allows students to see firsthand how physics theory plays a role in natural phenomena. Field learning experiences like this add a more profound understanding that cannot be fully obtained in the classroom.

During the field lecture, the students looked very enthusiastic and excited. The natural atmosphere of the beach is a unique attraction, providing a different and fresh learning atmosphere. In addition, interaction between students in small groups encourages collaboration and critical thinking in solving problems. Each observation session ends with a discussion with the lecturer to discuss the results of the observations and relate them to relevant physics concepts.

This activity is expected to strengthen students' academic understanding and foster a love of physics and concern for the environment. Through field lectures at Karta Beach, the Physics Study Program at Tanjungpura University is committed to providing a more memorable and valuable learning experience and preparing students to apply their knowledge in the real world.
